About Wrap Up Productions
Anne Fernandes and Jay Christensen each have over 20 years of experience in video production. Founded in 1983, Wrap Up Productions is a closely-held company and our multi-faceted client-centered approach is hard to beat. We take great pride in “getting it right.” and making it interesting to watch. Anne is co-owner and writes and directs most of the higher profile projects at Wrap Up Productions.
She has a wonderful ability to write flowing understandable prose for even complicated technical scripts. We have eight programs she scripted and directed on display at Intel's Corporate Museum in Santa Clara (Jodelle French, 408-765-0926). One of our first big jobs was producing documentary-style training programs for General Motors on Japanese production methods at New United Motors in Fremont in 1986. Anne's scripts were considered by our G.M. clients to be better quality than those written by higher profile freelance scriptwriters employed by some of the large San Francisco production houses.Anne is also an excellent director and editor. She has a terrific sense of timing and composition. Producers and directors who have edited with Anne consistantly comment on the aptness of her instincts and the speed of her work. "Personal Touch" for the Hadley School for the Blind (Dr. Sally Mangold, 510-581-5451) demonstrated Anne's deft touch for creating involving human interest stories as she demonstrated the importance of braille in the lives of the visually impaired.
Jay freelances as a camera operator, lighting director and jib operator/owner for broadcast and non-broadcast productions. Anne and Jay each have excellent camera skills either handheld or on a tripod. Jay is currently on the board of directors of the local chapter of the International Television Association (ITVA), serving as judging coordinator and program director. He has connections to some of the best freelance talent in the Bay Area.
Jay’s experience includes writing and editing positions at the Alameda Newspaper Group's Hayward Daily Review, KCBS Radio and college experience as Student Newspaper Editor and Sports Information Director at California State University, Hayward, where he also received the Martie Maxwell Award for the greatest contribution to the Mass Communication Department. He excells at gathering information from clients so Wrap Up’s programs always reflect the client’s needs and desires. His recent scriptwriting and directing credits include the Transbay Terminal video for AC Transit (Ken Scheidig, 510-891-7178) and a 100th anniversary program for US Pipe and Foundry (Christopher Januszewski, 510-441-5840).
Anne and Jay are experienced interviewers with hours of interviews conducted on their award-winning cable news program, for corporate videos and at public and business events. Their interviewing skills also help off-camera as they gather information for scripts. One of Wrap Up’s great strengths is their ability to work with non-professional talent and make them feel comfortable in front of the camera.
The third full-time member of our team is David Cowan. Dave has been with Wrap Up Productions since 1986. Like Anne and Jay, he is able to successfully fulfill multiple roles, working as an editor, videographer, engineer, audio tech, grip and gaffer. Clients consistantly tell Anne and Jay that they are lucky to have him as a friend and employee. Dave is the kind of person that if you say “I wish I could put a light on top of that flagpole,” he will find a way to do it. He is also our computer expert and aficionado.Wrap Up Productions has extensive experience producing all kinds of promotional, informational and training videos. We have produced promotional tapes for products as varied as medical equipment, sunglasses, motorhome chassis, toys, wafer processing equipment, records storage, machine shops, processed meats, computer software, bathroom shower fixtures and bungee jumping.
